Church Health Center 5K/10K
October 19, 2013 9am
Thanks to everyone who supported the inaugural Church Health Center 5K/10K! We had over 800 participants and raised more than $58,000 for the Church Health Center, and we could not have done it without people like you!
At the Church Health Center, we are blessed with great friends who help put on great events! Check out this friend's dedication to the Church Health Center. Friend and donor Cameron Petersen is throwing down a challenge. If iGive, the Center's monthly giving program, attracts 25 new members by November 21, he will shave his beloved mustache. Sign up today at www.iGiveCHC.org. Click here to meet Cameron in his video explanation of this iGive challenge.
Thanks again to all who made this event possible, and I look foward to your continued support of the Church Health Center!

About the Church Health Center...
The Church Health Center seeks to reclaim the Church’s biblical commitment to care for our bodies and our spirits. Our ministries provide healthcare for the working uninsured and promote healthy bodies and spirits for all. With a talented staff of physicians, dentists and an optometrist, the Church Health Center Clinic handles over 36,000 patient visits a year for hard-working, uninsured Memphians. But healthcare is about more than just prescribing pills. We at the Church Health Center believe we have a responsibility to take care of the bodies God gave us, so we are committed to health education and prevention. Our Wellness ministry, which records 115,000 visits a year, offers everything from personalized exercise plans and cooking classes to group exercise classes and activities for children and teens. CHC Wellness is open to the entire community with fees charged on a sliding scale based on family size and income. The Church Health Center 5K/10K is the perfect way to support the cause, raise awareness and get healthy, allowing us all to continue creating a happier, healthier Memphis.
The routes mapped out by Start2Finish will provide a beautiful back drop that will weave through several midtown thoroughfares and showcase some of the most stunning homes in Cooper Young and Central Gardens.
The race will begin and end at Church Health Center Wellness. Come early and stay
late, for there will be fun events for participants and spectators including yoga, line-
dancing and cooking demonstrations, as well as live music and great food!
Make an even bigger impact on the mission of the Church Health Center by becoming a Church Health Center Champion and fundraising for individual or team prizes over and above the registration fee. Church Health Center Champions will receive a special color race shirt to let you stand out in the crowd. Your support will help provide quality, affordable healthcare to many of our neighbors in need.
Online registration closes October 18, and race day registration will open at 7:30 am.
Participating in the race is a great way to get moving and support our mission to make Memphis healthier. Invite your friends and family to form a team.
On race day, Church Health Center Wellness will be open for tours, healthy cooking classes, exercise demos and more! We hope you will join us for a day of fun, fitness and fellowship.
